The growth of mass sport and its presence in society has become increasingly relevant. Physical culture and a healthy lifestyle have gained a special dimension over the years and the importance of sport for physical and mental health is undeniable.
The passion for sport, specifically for Basketball, has always been a constant in the Guerreiro family.
Pedro Guerreiro was a basketball player at Xico de Holanda and later, in 1993, one of the founders of the Basquetebol Clube de Guimarães, of which he was also President.
His connection and love to the local club, Vitória Sport Clube, led him to become Director of the Basketball Section of the club. A strong and unbreakable bond, both with the club and with the sport itself.
Projeto das Condessas was just one of many projects where Pedro Guerreiro invested his time and dedication, in order to dignify and praise women's basketball of the city club.
His departure from the board, in 2019, didn’t change the attitude of Costa Guerreiro towards Vitória’s Basketball: an active, committed and dedicated participation remained. Over the years, the group contributed to the growth of Vitória’s Basketball and to some of the unique moments of the sport, namely winning two Portuguese cups, in 2008 and 2013.
